Sports History

Sports history, the history of sport and sport can teach us the meaning of changing society and of sport itself. Sport seems to involve basic human abilities that are developed and trained for their own sake, which goes hand in hand with being trained for their use. This suggests that sport may be as old as human existence itself, that it has a purpose, and is a useful way of enhancing their ability to conquer nature and the environment.

Sports History

Sport (Sport) comes from the Latin “disportare” or “deportare” in Italian “deporte” which means pleasure, maintenance or entertaining to have fun. It can be said that sports are human activities to entertain themselves while maintaining the bodi Sports history. Meanwhile, between sport and play there is a close relationship and has a structural relationship, that sport is a form of playing that is more perfect. But it does not say that all forms of play are sports. Sport is something that develops from playing, is the result of a combination of:

a. The need for physical agility
b. The need for the ability to cope with the situation
c. The need to achieve the values of beauty
d. The need for refreshing excitement (recreation)
Sport (sport) is a combination of all physical exercises that people carry out voluntarily to strengthen and train the bodi’s energy, as well as promote concentration and willpower.
However, if we look further back, the word Sport (sport) is never separated from the following faktors:
1. Pre-history 2. Ancient China 3. Ancient Egypt 4. Ancient Greece 5. Europe and global development

Prehistoric (prehistoric)

Many modern finds in France, Africa and Australia in cave paintings (see such as Lascaux) from prehistoric times provide evidence of ceremonial ritus customs. Some of this evidence dates back 30,000 years, based on carbon dating calculations. Stone Age paintings/pictures found in the Libyan desert show some activities, swimming and archery. Painting itself is a testament to an interest in craftsmanship that has nothing to do with survival, and is proof that there is free time to santai. It also proves other non-functional activities such as rituss and so on.

Thus, although there is little direct evidence of exercise from these sources, it is reasonable to conclude that there was some activity at that time related to exercise. Captain Cook, when he first came to the Hawaiian Islands, in 1778, reported that the natives were surfing. Native American Indians were involved in game and sports before the arrival of Europeans, such as lacrosse, some ball game, running, and other athletic activities.

The cultured Mayans and Aztecs took the games of ball seriously. The field that was used before is still in use today. It is reasonable to conclude from these and other historical sources that sport has its roots in humanity itself.
